Job Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive legal representation to clients facing criminal charges, including misdemeanors, felonies, and federal offenses.
- Conduct thorough legal research, case analysis, and investigation to develop effective defense strategies.
- Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates on case progress, explain legal options, and address concerns.
- Prepare and file legal motions, pleadings, and other court documents.
- Represent clients at arraignments, hearings, trials, and other court proceedings.
- Negotiate plea deals with prosecutors to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
- Collaborate with investigators, experts, and support staff to build strong defense cases.
- Stay current on changes in criminal law, court procedures, and legal precedents to provide informed and effective representation.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
- Minimum 2 years of experience practicing criminal defense law.
- Strong knowledge of criminal law, procedures, and rules of evidence.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to advocate persuasively in court and negotiate effectively with opposing counsel.
