Firefly Propulsion Engineers will leverage their creative background and
expertise to help develop innovative solutions for the application of 
space systems technology. You will work in small collaborative groups 
through all stages of the propulsion component and system design including
conceptual architecture layout, preliminary design, sizing, detail design, 
fabrication instruction writing and liaison shop support. 

You will have full ownership of your project from the initial concept 
through all phases of the design, analysis, manufacturing, and final 
integration of your parts. General Responsibilities: • Develop new 
innovative design concepts for our vehicle • Use engineering principles 
and fundamentals to provide novel solutions for technically challenging 
problems • Develop sophisticated 1D and 3D models to substantiate the 
physics behind the design • Detail orientated, managing multiple priorities 
while maintaining focus towards a common goal • Participate in design 
reviews • Focus on reaching the highest possible mass-fraction while 
maintaining unparalleled reliability 

Specific Responsibilities: Develop engine balance software for staged 
combustion rocket engine • Analyze combustion chemistry for liquid oxygen 
oxidizer and RP-1 and methane fuels • Assist in design of Rocket engine 
nozzles • Assist in design of rocket engine pre-burner • Assist in design 
of rocket engine combustion chamber • Assist in design of rocket engine 
turbomachinery • Perform thermal analysis of rocket engines • Perform 
CFD analysis of rocket engines • Assist in component selection for 
rocket engine.
